Holding Space (Adam, Elina and Iris), 2020. Pencil with watercolour on paper.
These drawings are inspired by a performance developed for the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. It was presented in June 2019 within and in response to the architecture of their daylit gallery 64b which houses some of their medieval collection.
This durational performance entitled Holding Shift (2019), saw three bodies each moving in duo with a lump of fresh bread dough, the performance was slow, meditative, periods movement, periods of rest, the dough dictating the choreography and pace as the sun set over their bodies.
Holding Shift (2019) was performed by Elina Akhmetova, Iris Chan and Adam Moore.
